Fast Facts from the National Park of Speed

It was a wet and wild weekend for the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS championship as teams braved the rainy Wisconsin weather for the ninth and tenth rounds of the 2024 season. The Pro and Pro-Am classes put on a thrilling show across both 90-minute feature races at Road America, with new faces stepping into the spotlight, while championship players made big strides.

In the Global Manufacturers Championship, Porsche continues to lead in the standings with 13,608 points. However, Mercedes has closed in significantly following events at the Nürburgring, Queensland Raceway, and Road America. The two manufacturers are now separated by just under 500 points total. Ferrari has retained third place with 11,079 points, but Audi is fast approaching.

  • DXDT Racing were unstoppable once again, adding another set of back-to-back victories to their ongoing tally in the No. 63 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R. Tommy Milner and Alec Udell have now claimed the top step of the podium for the sixth consecutive time, moving themselves up to second in the Pro class standings in the process.

  • Racers Edge Motorsports were also in the Top 3 finishers in both races, as Pro pairing Luca Mars and Zach Veach put up a strong fight to earn a second and third place result in their No. 93 Acura NSX GT3 EVO22.
  • Wright Motorsports did the same in their No. 120 Porsche 992 GT3 R, concluding Race 1 in third, and moving up one spot further in Race 2. Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer continue to maintain their Pro class championship lead, although DXDT Racing are beginning to inch closer.
  • Turner Motorsport clinched the Race 1 win in the Pro-Am, which was their second victory of the season. Justin Rothberg and Robby Foley completed a stellar comeback drive as they made their way through the field in their No. 29 BMW M4 GT3.
  • GMG Racing returned to the podium for the second time this season, as Kyle Washington and Tom Sargent co-drove to a second-place finish in the No. 32 Porsche 992 GT3 R in Race 1.
  • MMG’s pairing of Jean-Frederic Laberge and Kyle Marcelli had a strong debut weekend in the series, earning a third-place result in Race 1 in Pro-Am, taking home the SUPER FUEL Hard Charger award in the process as they climbed up 7 positions overall.
  • In Race 2, it was a successful outing for DXDT Racing in the Pro-Am class as well. Bryan Sellers and new teammate Bryson Morris secured the class win in the No. 08 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, and finished second overall behind the Pro class sister car to score a 1-2 finish, their best result of the season.
  • ST Racing’s Pro-Am pairing of Samantha Tan and Neil Verhagen had a challenging first race, but bounced back in Sunday’s feature event to claim second place in their No. 38 BMW M4 GT3. They continue to lead the class championship, with an opportunity to clinch the title at the very next rounds in Alabama.
  • Regulator Racing made the alternative strategy work in their favor once again in the No. 91 Mercedes-AMG GT3. Jeff Burton completed the opening stint in Race 2, while Philip Ellis powered his way up to a third-place finish in the Pro-Am class as the checkered flag waved.
  • Elliott Skeer recorded the fastest lap in Race 1, with a time of 2:05.707, while Philip Ellis went just a little bit quicker in Race 2, with a best time of 2:05.340.
  • Race 1 covered a total of 40 laps, with Race 2 running two laps longer. Both races consisted of mostly green flag running, providing a great deal of excitement in both 90-minute events.
  • The series will return for the eleventh and twelfth rounds of the 2024 season as they head to Barber Motorsports Park for the first time. The penultimate event will take place from September 6th to 8th. Tickets are available for purchase here
