- Racers Edge Motorsports Quickest Overall
- GMG Racing Competitive in Pro-Am
- Practice 2 Unofficial Results
As a result of a previous weather delay earlier in the afternoon, Practice 2 for the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS competitors was slightly shortened to 50 minutes. The field made the most of their time on track, however, the inclement weather began to roll in again with 30 minutes remaining, bringing a halt to the on-track action shortly thereafter.
It was Zach Veach from Racers Edge Motorsports and GMG Racing’s Tom Sargent who topped the timesheets in the Pro and Pro-Am classes before the heavy rain came into effect.
Pro Class
Zach Veach took the opportunity to set the best time overall in the session on board his No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 EVO22, clocking in a lap time of 2:06.452 before the heavy rain began to come down.
Madison Snow followed in second in the No. 99 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT3, putting in a competitive time as the BMW M Motorsport factory got to grips with the new machinery.
After finishing first overall in the opening practice session, ST Racing’s Bill Auberlen made a top three appearance yet again in Practice 2 in the No. 28 BMW M4 GT3 as he followed closely behind Snow.
Pro-Am Class
In the Pro-Am, Tom Sargent optimized his dry track running in the No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 992 GT3 R as he went on to lock in the quickest time in class and fourth-fastest time overall.
Samantha Tan tan concluded the session in second position once again with her No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT3, further showcasing that she and Neil Verhagen, who currently hold the championship points lead, will be ones to watch come race day.
Regulator Racing’s Jeff Burton rounded off the top three in the No. 91 Mercedes-AMG GT3, putting in good laps as the team now looks ahead in search of securing a follow-up victory after their recent performance at VIR.
