- Kyle Washington Looks for More GT America Powered by AWS Race Wins and Podiums in the White No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R
- Co-Drivers Washington and Tom Sargent Pursue First GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS Pro-Am Race Win of 2025 in the Black No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R
GMG Racing rolls back to the twists, turns and up-and-down elevation changes of the picturesque Barber Motorsports Park this weekend for a full schedule of four different SRO America races with team drivers Kyle Washington and Tom Sargent in a pair of No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R entries. Washington suits up for all four races, competing solo in the GT America powered by AWS doubleheader while pairing with coach and co-driver Tom Sargent in the weekend's featured GT World Challenge America powered by AWS twin 90-minute races.
Washington and Sargent both know the way to victory lane at Barber. In his debut on the 2.38-mile Alabama circuit last year, Washington secured a podium finish with a third-place showing in Saturday's opening 40-minute GT America race of the weekend. Washington's P3 podium run set the stage for another strong result later on Saturday when he and Sargent co-drove to a top-five Pro-Am finish in the weekend's first 90-minute GT World Challenge America race. Sargent also set the fastest race lap in the closing stages of last year's Saturday GT World Challenge race.
"Kyle did a great job in his Barber Motorsports Park debut last year and now returns with a full race weekend's knowledge and experience on a pristine circuit that can also be pretty tricky," said GMG Racing Founder and Team Principal James Sofronas. "Our Porsches had pace at Barber last year, and we have frequently had the top 911 GT3 R at several races this year. This weekend is the last 90-minute doubleheader format GT World Challenge race of the year, ahead of October's season-ending 8 Hours of Indianapolis, and we have two more shots to get back on the podium and battle for a GT World Challenge victory at Barber."
The top priority for the weekend remains returning Washington and Sargent to the 2025 GT World Challenge podium. The duo's season-best showing in the black No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R has been a third-place run in April at Circuit of The Americas (COTA).
Washington's main GT3 success this season to date has come in the single driver GT America series. He has won three races and scored nine total GT America top-three finishes, with at least one podium result on each of the six doubleheader weekends spanning the year's first 12 races. The stout and steady run in the white No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R has Washington ranked second in the GT America driver championship standings, coming into Barber 25 points outside of the lead, 229 to 204.
Washington's GT America success has come in threes. He earned his victories at Sonoma Raceway, COTA and Sebring International Raceway along with an even split of three second-place finishes and a trio of third-place showings. The most recent trip to victory lane was a third-place finish one race ago in Saturday's opening sprint at Road America.
Following Friday practice and Saturday morning qualifying, both the GT World Challenge and GT America series respectively begin their Barber doubleheader schedules later on Saturday.
The first GT America 40-minute race gets things started Saturday at 11:55 a.m. CDT with the first GT World Challenge America race at 3 p.m. CDT.
Sunday's final rounds start at 9:05 a.m. CDT for GT America with the weekend-ending GT World Challenge 90-minute final race scheduled to go green at 1:45 p.m. CDT.
All of the weekend's races air live on RACER TV and the GTWorld YouTube channel.
